- Aug. 22-23. 2006 Manure Management Clinic. Field Extension Education Laboratory (FEEL) west of Ames. The clinic will focus on open lot manure management issues, including training service providers, commodity partners, agency personnel, and extension field staff to prepare owners and operators of open feedlots for future nutrient manure management and open lot issues in the state of Iowa. - Aug. 25. Farming Matters Forum. Western Iowa Tech Community College, Cherokee, IA. This is a follow-up forum to one offered in March 2006, but previous attendance is not required for this event. - Jan. 6. Commercial Manure Applicator Certification and Recertification Satellite Downlink. This workshop provides the 3-hours of mandatory training required by Iowa law for Commercial Manure Applicators. This 3-hour satellite workshop will be offered in 82 Iowa County Extension offices, 2 sites in Minnesota, one site in Nebraska and one site in Wisconsin. Joint training for applicators who need certification in both Iowa and Minnesota will be offered at the two Minnesota locations: Nobles and Mower County.
